Yatahae Akili
Born Nov 13th, 2006. We imported her in January 2007, she was our very first Coolie and only reinforced our desire to have more of them. She was bred by Ida Parmer of Yatahae in Texas, USA.
She was started on sheep in April 2007 with Lynn Leach of Laidlaw, BC. As a young pup she also had some fun times with the sheep on Downriver farms with Lynn in Jan/Feb 2007. Her training is going along really well and she has allowed me to make mistakes and improve in my skills over the last year, very forgiving dog. Her drive is easy to control and her obedience impeccable.
I have never had to ask her anything twice and she just loves to please. Her courage with the sheep is amazing and she asserts herself when need be if challenged by a stubborn sheep. Her loving nature towards her family and others makes her a great ambassador dog for my business Avalon Dog Ranch, we specialize in "aggression" rehabilitation. She has offered her help in many dog aggression cases and invests herself completely in being a calm source of energy with honest intentions to gain trust and friendship from unbalanced/fearful/traumatized dogs. Her qualities compliment those of my boys and she has produced one litter in 2008. Out of which a fly-ball star was born (see page for details). Her favourite thing is to snuggle up with us and eat raw bones.
